• When you're sick the plus is you don't have to call in to the office
• You're on call practically 24/7
• When surprise visits occur from friends, you can actually hang... and make up your work later.
• When inspiration hits (no matter what time) you can take advantage.
• On the weekends, the work doesn't stop. It is hard to take a day off.
• You Usually don't have to waste time in an office waiting for work to do. You make your own work.
• Sometimes you still have to go into the office.
• You NEED to set a schedule, otherwise tiredness and sickness occurs :p (moreso)
• You can't count on "I might have a job for you."
• There are moments of downtime, try to enjoy them and not go crazy, because everything seems to happen all at once... at the same time.
• It's up to YOU to delegate whether you will get jobs (applying is the first step)
• You NEED to reinforce your time commitments. Respect other people's time and ask that they respect yours.
• You have to Learn to say "No".
• Even when you're sick, sometimes... you still have to work.
• Sometimes your internet connection is your best friend and worst enemy -_-
• You don't get immediate feedback all the time like an office job.
• Sometimes no matter how much you ask you will still get media/parts of project/information very late and still be expected to have the whole project completed and polished perfectly by deadline.
• Even when you ask for input, it isn't given until you export and its supposed to be the last version.
• Always aim for finishing BEFORE deadlines.
